Dr. Sobol was trained at the Cleveland Clinic in surgery, and at Barnes Hospital (Washington University in St. Louis) in head and neck surgery. He also completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery subsequently at the Cleveland Clinic. He was an Assistant Professor of Head and Neck Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and an Associate Professor of Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the early 80’s. He has a long interest in the medical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disease and has performed over 1500 Thyroid/Parathyroid Surgical procedures over 25 years and cared for over 3000 patients with thyroid disease in the Central Illinois region. Extensive experience with all aspects of thyroid and parathyroid disease including Thyroid Nodules and Thyroid Cancer, Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, Thyroiditis, Goiter, and Hyperparathyroidism. He works closely with specialists in diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology and endocrinology when necessary. Along with being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is a member of the American Thyroid Association, and the American Head and Neck Surgical Society.
